Peanut butter cookies are a classic treat loved by many for their rich, nutty flavor and soft, chewy texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter (creamy or chunky)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Direction

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and the dough comes together.
  3. If desired, you can roll the dough into balls and then roll them in granulated sugar before placing them on the baking sheet. This step is optional but adds a nice sweetness and creates a crisscross pattern on the cookies.
  4. Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Use a fork to flatten each dough ball slightly and create a crisscross pattern on top.
  5. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.

Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
