Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and de veined
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • chopped fresh herbs (such as parsley or cilantro) for garnish

How To Prepare

  1. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they become soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the peeled and de veined shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cook the shrimp, stirring occasionally, until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, as they can become tough and rubbery.
  6. Once the shrimp are cooked through, remove the skillet from the heat
