Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 8 ounces (about 225g) mushrooms (button mushrooms, cremini, or your choice), sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Directions
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions to the skillet and sauté them, stirring occasionally, until they become soft and slightly caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
- Once the onions are softened and starting to turn golden brown, add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. add minced garlic now as well.
- Sauté the mushrooms and onions together, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are cooked through and golden brown, about 8-10 minutes more.
- Season the mushrooms and onions with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.
- Once the mushrooms and onions are cooked to your liking, remove the skillet from the heat.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
