  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 2 tablespoons Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and any other desired toppings

For the Spicy Kimchi Bacon Jam

  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup kimchi, chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

How to prepare

Prepare the Gochujang Chicken Burgers

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground chicken, Gochujang, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken burgers for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and browned on the outside.
  4. Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

Make the Spicy Kimchi Bacon Jam:

  1. In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set it aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
  2. Add the chopped kimchi to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Gochujang, and soy sauce. Cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the mixture thickens and becomes jam-like.
  4. Add the cooked bacon back to the skillet and stir to combine with the kimchi mixture. Remove from heat.

Assemble the Burgers:

  1. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted burger bun.
  2. Place a cooked Gochujang chicken burger patty on top of the lettuce.
  3. Spoon a generous amount of the Spicy Kimchi Bacon Jam over the chicken patty.
  4. Add slices of tomato and any other desired toppings.
  5. Top with the other half of the toasted burger bun.
