Ingredients
- 1 pound (about 450g) fresh green beans, ends trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
How To Prepare
- Prepare the Green Beans: Rinse the green beans under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Trim off the ends.
- Blanch the Green Beans: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they are bright green and slightly tender. Be careful not to overcook them; you want them to remain crisp.
- Shock the Green Beans: Immediately transfer the blanched green beans to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. This helps them retain their vibrant color and crisp texture. Once cooled, drain the green beans and pat them dry.
- Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. Be careful not to let the garlic burn.
- Add the Green Beans: Add the blanched green beans to the skillet with the garlic. Toss them in the garlic-infused oil until they are well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook until Tender: Continue to cook the green beans in the skillet for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are heated through and tender but still crisp.
