Ingredients
- Ripe bananas (peeled, sliced, and frozen)
- Flavorings or mix-ins (such as cocoa powder, peanut butter, vanilla extract, berries, nuts, chocolate chips, etc.)
Method
- Start by peeling ripe bananas and slicing them into coins or chunks.
- Arrange the banana slices in a single layer on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet or plate. Make sure they are not touching to prevent them from sticking together.
- Place the baking sheet or plate in the freezer and freeze the banana slices for at least 2-3 hours, or until completely frozen.
- Once the banana slices are frozen solid, transfer them to a blender or food processor.
- Blend the frozen banana slices until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the blender or food processor as needed. This may take a few minutes and will require some patience, as the bananas will go through a crumbly stage before becoming creamy.
- Add any flavorings or mix-ins to the banana mixture. This could include cocoa powder for chocolate flavor, peanut butter for a nutty taste, vanilla extract for sweetness, or any other ingredients you like.
- Continue blending until the flavorings or mix-ins are fully incorporated into the banana mixture and the desired consistency is reached. The result should resemble soft-serve ice cream.
