Ingredients
- Ripe firm bananas
- Lemon juice to prevent browning
- Oil for frying either vegetable oil or coconut oil
Directions
- Peel the bananas and slice them thinly, about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. You can slice them crosswise or lengthwise, depending on your preference. If desired, you can brush the banana slices with lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan or pot to about 350°F (175°C). You want enough oil to submerge the banana slices.
- Carefully add the banana slices to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the banana slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Use a slotted spoon or tongs to transfer the fried banana slices to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
