Ingredients
- 1 lb (about 450g) ground pork
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/4 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for cooking)
How To Prepare
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork with all the spices, herbs, and maple syrup or brown sugar. Mix well to ensure that the seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the meat.
- Using your hands, shape the seasoned ground pork mixture into patties of your desired size. You can shape them into traditional round patties or form them into sausage shapes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the sausage patties to the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook the sausages for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through. Make sure to cook them to an internal temperature of at least 160°F (71°C).
- Once the sausages are cooked through, remove them from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess grease.
