Ingredients
- 4 pork chops, bone-in or boneless, about 1-inch thick
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Chopped fresh parsley
Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season both sides of the pork chops generously with salt and black pepper.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops to the skillet and sear them for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they develop a golden brown crust. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic, dried rosemary, and dried thyme. Sauté for about 1 minute, or until the garlic becomes fragrant.
- If using, deglaze the skillet by adding chicken broth or white wine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Allow the liquid to come to a simmer.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
- Bake the pork chops in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for medium doneness.
- Once the pork chops are cooked through, remove the skillet from the oven and transfer the pork chops to a serving platter. Tent them with aluminum foil and let them rest for a few minutes.
