- 1 lb (about 500 g) lamb or beef cutlets
- 2 medium green bell peppers, sliced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for grilling
- 4 pieces of pita bread or flatbread
Directions
- Prepare the Meat Cutlets:
- Season the lamb or beef cutlets with salt and pepper.
- Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush with olive oil.
- Grill the cutlets for about 3-4 minutes per side or until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the grill and set aside.
- Make the Tomato Sauce:
- In a separate saucepan, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic in olive oil until softened.
- Add the tomato sauce and sliced green bell peppers. Simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Warm the Pita Bread:
- Heat the pita bread on the grill or stovetop until warm and slightly toasted.
- Assemble the Kebabs:
- Place a grilled meat cutlet on each piece of warm pita bread.
- Spoon the tomato sauce with green peppers over the meat.
- Add a dollop of plain yogurt on top.
